2. Data we collect and why
a) Contact form
When you submit our contact form we collect your name, email address, and project message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry. Legal basis: legitimate interests (responding to a business enquiry you initiated).
b) Newsletter signup
If you subscribe to our newsletter we collect your email address with your explicit consent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email. Legal basis: consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR).
c) Analytics & performance
We use Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights, and Cloudflare Web Analytics. All three services are configured for cookieless, privacy-first telemetry — they measure aggregate traffic, page performance, and site health without setting persistent identifiers or tracking individual users. No cookie consent is required for these tools. Legal basis: legitimate interests (maintaining and improving our website).
d) Security (Turnstile)
Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection. Turnstile analyses browser signals to distinguish humans from bots without storing personally identifiable data on our servers. Cloudflare's own privacy policy applies to this processing.
3. Data storage & international transfers
All data is transmitted over TLS-encrypted connections (HTTPS). Contact form submissions are received via email and stored only within our email provider. We do not maintain a marketing database of contact-form enquiries. Newsletter subscriber emails are held securely by our email service provider.
International Transfers: We operate primarily in the UK. However, some of our third-party service providers (such as Google, Cloudflare, and Vercel) are based outside the UK/EEA, meaning your data may be processed in the United States. Where this occurs, we ensure your data is protected under UK GDPR standards by relying on approved safeguards, such as the UK-US Data Bridge, adequacy decisions, or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.
4. Retention periods
- Contact enquiries: Kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry, typically no longer than 12 months.
- Newsletter subscribers: Until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribe links are included in every email.
- Analytics data: Aggregated, non-personal — retained per Vercel/Cloudflare's own retention policies.
