What we were up against.
Photography portfolios often suffer from severe performance issues due to loading dozens of high-resolution images. This creates a terrible first impression and hurts search engine rankings. Standard grid layouts also often crop photos poorly, ruining the composition.
How we fixed it.
Built a heavily optimized Next.js architecture using next/image for automatic WebP conversion, srcset generation, and lazy loading. Implemented a mathematical masonry layout that respects original image aspect ratios without causing layout shifts.
